IncubatorWorks-Supporting clean energy through our focus on material science startups, we have graduated members who have contributed to this industry with research, development, and commercial products that are the backbone of cutting-edge clean energy technology. Graduates of IncubatorWorks include Versalume, Micatu and Xylon Technical Ceramics purchased by Belvac,. IncubatorWorks was initiated in 1987 as two facilities located in Alfred, NY and Corning, NY with the intention to bookend the Ceramics Glass Corridor between Alfred University’s world class glass and ceramics programs and Center for Advanced Ceramic Technology, and Corning Glass. Our charter has broadened since then and although we are not attached to either the University or Corning Glass, we work to bring together inventors and industry, entrepreneurs and markets, graduates and employers, as well as researchers and businesses. We are one of the sponsoring incubators for New York’s 76West Clean Energy Competition and serve the semifinalists with mentoring and regional connections. IncubatorWorks also accesses the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, and we have assisted our members is raising over $3.4M in grants and funding.
