Copper Labs' technology involved a wireless energy monitor that collects real-time usage data from smart AMI and driveby AMR. Transmitting through a local wi-fi connection, Copper presents that data to consumers with a mobile app and to utilities in a web portal. The data and user interfaces then enable customer targeting, notification, and measurement of demand management events. The mobile app provides personalized recommendations, including major appliance identification, for consumers to take energy saving action. For electric utilities, Copper can also deliver end-point voltage data for grid management and more.
