Urban Electric Power's patented zinc-manganese dioxide battery technology revolutionizes the chemistry used in alkaline primary (single-discharge) batteries (e.g., AAs, AAAs) by making it rechargeable over thousands of charge-discharge cycles. This battery provides a low-cost, safe energy storage technologe that is being integrated into stationary energy storage systems (ESS) in residentail, commercial, and utility sizes for applications including resliency, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), renewable energy integration, and peak load management. The earth-abundant materials used, zinc and manganese dioxide, are safe for both humans and the environment, and have robust supply chains that keep prices low.
