Azienda Energetica Funes is an energy community in Val di Funes (Italy) whose shareholders are the local inhabitants. The Cooperative owns and manage several hydropower plants (Santa Maddalena with an installed capacity of 255 kW, San Pietro 482 kW and Meles 2400 kW) and biogas power plants (2 boilers respetively 1100 and 700 kW) to feed the thermal demand. Today, the electricity produced exceeds the consumption and the revenues are then invested in the local place (i.e. discount on energy bills for shareholders). The Cooperative owns also local MV and LV power grid and district heating network.
