The Toyota City Verification Project was a demonstration in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan designed to show that a low-carbon society was achievable via smart phones, big data, and the internet of things. Energy use data was collected, analyzed, and then used to inform citizens of better energy consumption behaviors and to remotely control electrical devices.
