Overview

Project Summary

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) designed, developed, and demonstrated technology for end-to-end grid integration of energy storage (ES), load management, and solar forecasting with photovoltaic (PV) generation. The technology solution is an optimized control architecture for beneficial integration of distributed energy resources (DER) with the grid. In order to realize the full value of this integration, two levels of control and optimization are proposed. This project aims to demonstrate utility-level system control, such as a distribution management system (DMS), with a customer-level, local controller.
