Overview

Project Summary

Lightly adapted and edited from: https://www.edsoforsmartgrids.eu/projects/edso-projects/evolvdso/

The FP7-funded evolvDSO project aims to develop the methodologies and tools for new and evolving DSO roles for efficient DRES integration in distribution networks. Due to its European added value and alignment with the objectives of the European Electricity Grid Initiative (EEGI), it has been awarded the EEGI Support Label.

With the growing relevance of distributed renewable energy sources (DRES) in the generation mix and the increasingly pro-active demand for electricity, power systems and their mode of operation need to evolve. evolvDSO defines future and evolving roles of distribution system operators (DSOs) on the basis of various future scenarios which are driven by different DRES penetration levels and technological degrees of freedom.
