Courant d’Air
Overview
Project Summary
Courant d'Air is a renewable energy citizen cooperative located in Eastern Belgium. Created in 2009, the cooperative had (at the start of 2021) 2896 members and a staff of 6 employees. It operates renewable energy production projects (wind farms, hydropower plants and solar PV power plants) with an electricity production of around 30,000 MWh/year. Thanks to the skills acquired, the cooperative informs and educates citizens and municipalities on energy issues, including wind power in particular, but also the rational use of energy. The subscription to the co-operative is opened to all the citizens with a maximum number of shares (250€ per each) of three per person. At the general meeting, all the cooperators have the right to vote on the important choices of the cooperative.
