Amelander Energie Coöperatie U.A.
Overview
Project Summary
The Amelander Energie Coöperatie UA (AEC) is a company founded with the aim of supplying Amelander energy users with sustainable electricity and CO2 compensated gas at attractive rates. The solar park has 23100 solar panels (capacity 6 MW) and supplies more than enough power for all households on Ameland. AEC does not have a supplier’s license, the invoicing is done through GreenChoice & NLD offering green energy (€0.0025 per KWh cheaper than the regional supplier). The aim of AEC is to stimulate the reduction of energy consumption on Ameland (through behavior and energy-saving measures) and to generate the energy consumption that is nevertheless necessary sustainably via solar energy and possibly other options such as geothermal and tidal energy.
