EWS Schönau is a multi-utility cooperative that began to supply customers with green electricity on a nationwide scale. EWS is committed to phasing out nuclear power, climate protection and the decentralization and democratization of the energy industry. Its main aim is to support initiatives and campaigns for the energy transition or for energy efficiency with the funding program. EWS set up and actually operates community-owned photovoltaic (PV) solar systems on roofs and open spaces, wind farm and local heating networks.
