Overview
Project Summary
Auchrobert Wind Farm is located on partially forested hills in South Lanarkshire, 25 km south of Glasgow and 6km south east of Strathaven, Scotland. The windfarm has a capacity of 36 MW, consists of 12x3.2 MW turbines and it produces enough clean energy to power approximately 26,000 homes. It was established in 2019 for the specific purpose of owning a stake in the Auchrobert wind farm in South Lanarkshire. Its aim is to provide social and environmental benefits to people local to the wind farm. It is a Society owned by and managed for the benefit of the community by its Members, who are protected by limited liability status. It will give local people an opportunity to invest in renewable energy generation and support local action on Climate Change. Energy4All in collaboration with Falck Renewables Wind formed this community.
