Energise South
Overview
Project Summary
Energise South is a community benefit society created to develop solar energy to benefit the community of East Sussex. Solar panels have been installed on the roof of Hastings Academy with a 40 kW array on the main school building and another 40 kW on the sports hall. Two more projects will be installed, one will be the St Leonards Academy roof. This will be the biggest single array on a school in the country. Community ownership maximises the economic benefits of renewable energy schemes and generates funds for community benefit. To become members of Energise South Coop, investing amounts from £50 to £20,000 are available. Around a third of investors are local to the Hastings area.
