Hoosier Energy Utility-Scale Solar Pilot
Overview
Project Summary
The purpose of this pilot project is to better understand the impact of utility-deployed solar PV at the MW scale. Hoosier has installed ten 1-MW PV plants connected to the distribution system across its service territory in Indiana. EPRI is closely monitoring two of the ten plants. Among the utility’s goals is to use the collected data to improve its ability to forecast solar generation, assess PV plant performance (actual vs. expected), evaluate the impact of PV integration on two feeders, assess potential benefits smart inverter utilization, and conduct a benefit/cost analysis of PV integration.
