Overview

Project Summary

The E-Werk Prad, Cooperative of Prato allo Stelvio, manage 17 renewable power plants (4000 kW of hydropower, 103 kW Solar PV and 1600 kW of electric installed capacity for biomass). The energy production started in 1923 when a group of local people decided to build small hydropower plants and a cooperative was founded in order to support the costs. Today the Cooperative counts 1428 local shareholders (they are both users and energy owners). In this case, the savings on the bill are 30% for electricity and 20% for gas.
