Vuollerim is a locality situated in Jokkmokk Municipality with about 700 inhabitants. Climate conditions are special in Vuollerim, with no sun and little daylight during the winter and an abundance of light in summer that offers great possibilities for solar photovoltaic energy systems. At the centre of this LECO pilot project there was the community association Folkets Hus -people house- whose members became a very active part of this project. People of the communiy were interested in a cooperative solar photovoltaic park in order to solve some of the energy problems in the community and a joint procurement of air-to-air heat pumps. This cooperative solar park will be he first of this kind in the region, however Covid-19 paused temporarily the project.
