Microgrid Feasibility Study for PECO Energy
Overview
Project Summary
Exelon/PECO conducted a feasibility study to evaluate a proposed microgrid in Pennsylvania that would have ensured that essential services such as supermarkets, gas stations, and shelters could remain operational during a blackout. Though the public utility commission in Pennsylvania turned down the project, the study’s lessons are being used to consider a new microgrid elsewhere in the state.
